Windows 11 Pro require you to have a Microsoft account for setup

During the installation of Windows 11 Pro, users will be asked to connect to the internet and login in with a Microsoft Account.

Windows 11 Pro

That's already the situation when installing Windows 11 Home, but Windows 11 Pro is now being used to test the 'feature.'

New Windows 11 Release

The change was discovered in the new Windows 11 iso insider preview build 22557 change log (via Tom's Guide).“Similar to Windows 11 Home edition, Windows 11 Pro edition now requires internet connectivity during the initial device setup (OOBE) only. If you choose to setup device for personal use, MSA will be required for setup as well. You can expect Microsoft Account to be required in subsequent WIP flights.”

While users of Windows 11 Home are required to have a Microsoft account, it's unclear why users of Windows 11 Pro are suddenly required to have one as well.

It's one of the many reasons why people upgrade to the Pro edition. It's the kind of thing that irritates IT staffers who are responsible for a large number of machines.

Windows 11 Privacy

There's also the issue of privacy. Some people despise the concept of Big Brother requiring yet another method of monitoring their activity.

Isn't there any possibility that Microsoft would link your account and personal information in order to make more revenue? Yes, it most likely would.

In the most recent new Windows 11 preview releases, the requirement is being tested.

There's no timeline for a live rollout, and there's always the possibility that this need will never be implemented in live builds.

We hope that Microsoft will take user criticism into consideration and give a way to at least postpone the demand for internet access until after the installation is complete.

If it does, it would save a lot of people a lot of problems.

Microsoft Windows 11 Upgrade

Despite all the negative press that this will bring, there are some aspects of the new construction to look forward to

The start menu has been upgraded to include folders, which is a good improvement.

You can use this to group apps together. For starters, I'd do it with gaming, business programs, and chat/social media.

One Drive online storage will be integrated into File Explorer, and the task bar will be improved, among other things.

Other exciting features are in the works, such as support for Android apps and drag-and-drop into the taskbar. Even if we remove the requirement for a Microsoft account, Windows 11 is progressing quickly.
